My name is Garon Kiesel and photography has occupied the majority of my life for almost 20 years. Like so many others, making my first print in the black and white lab in high school is where the love affair began. It was then I knew making images was how I wanted to spend my adult life. After attending Palomar Junior college, I decided Brook’s Institute of photography would be the best choice to try and peruse life as a commercial photographer. Photography as an industry has gone through many changes since my time at Brook’s and it continues to be molded and shaped by people and technology on a daily basis. One thing that hasn’t changed is my love for the medium. There are moments when I am nostalgic for the gold old days of film and paper but this quickly gives way to excitement and a bit of fear when contemplating the limitless possibilities of the digital universe. This blog is my journey into the unknown. I hope you will join me.
